While I would not do this, I find it amusing to think of carefully lifting fingerprints from the car, then putting them on a dead body or other crime scene.

I should maybe say, lol That the Corvette historically has always held their resale much better than the average muscle car. With exceptions of course, to the wonky millionaires that just run up values, and make them unattainable for average folks, just because they can. Especially at Mecum. But vettes will always be #1 American sports car. Unequalled by all other domestics. Past and present.

"But Vettes will always be #1 American sports car. Unequalled by all other domestics. Past and present."

No. Wrong in the incorrect sense of being untruthful and lacking in entirely factual content.

How many times has the Corvette held the production car lap record on the Nordschliefe at the Nurburgring, like the Dodge Viper, which was an American sports car?

    N
    E
    V
    E
    R

That was in the past. One of the time frames claimed to be where the Corvette was "unequalled."

Mopar is the only American sports car maker to have ever held the production car lap record at the Nurburgring, which means that it stands head and shoulders over the Corvette. Especially on this and any other Mopar forum.

I quote directly from the subheading of the video: "A look at the 2010 Dodge Viper ACR's production-car, lap record lap of 7:12.13 at the world-famous 12.9-mile Nurburgring Nordschleife track in Germany, Sept. 14, 2011. Veteran GT driver Dominik Farnbacher was at the wheel for the lap, which beat the previous record by two seconds."

    (italics and bold are mine.)

    Mopar ist der sieg!
    Ja, sogar in deutschland!
    Und in der Welt!

I find it interesting that Mopar trounced EVERY OTHER AUTOMAKER IN THE HISTORY OF THE PLANET, including Ferrari, Porsche, Audi, Mercedes, Lamborghini, etc. etc. including and especially Chevrolet to achieve the fastest lap ever recorded in this universe for an actual production car on the Nordschliefe.

Lol. Corvette will always be King and only great american sports car. The original. A spaceship may outrun something, but that means nothing. Especially a faster Mopar!
Corvette is an American icon. And the only true, and the only American sportscar. The rest are not American sports cars, They are just not the definition of a sportscar. A Camaro is a muscle car, a Mustang is a ponycar, but they are not a sportscar. Neither are the others American sportscars.
A hearse with a big motor may outrun even a Camaro, but it'll never look as good doing it, nor will that make the hearse a sportscar, or musclecar

Baseball, hotdogs, applepie .... and Chevrolet! Lol. Corvette: No other American make has had such a dedicated following, collectibility as the vette. Not only by its owners, but by the people that loved these cars. I really like many makes. Mopar of course, but when Mopar had a their best in the early days, they were sold for far less than... the One. And had far less collectibility. The prowlers especially, but the Vipers will likely never have the numbers of people collecting and worshipping them as the vette has had for almost 70 years now. That said, the vette was never seriously intended to be serious competition for the exotics etc.As they also didnt cost 150 to 200k either at the time. Even with the large numbers of old vettes out there, they are always going up in price, and collectibility. Other makes may be going up, but the biggest factor in that is there are fewer specimens still left and that runs their value up.Any old ragged out vette will almost always bring approx 10k.A 10 year old modern ragged Camaro? $500 bucks....in most cases certainly not much.
