My new 392 has only 500 miles on it so I'm not completely familiar with how noticeable any upgrade would perform. However after reading many posts, and a few personal testimonials, I'm convinced this upgrade is a worthwhile investment. My first question is: will this in any way void my warranty? Second: which is the best one to go with on the Shaker package? Any and all $.02 is greatly appreciated. Mutt

If you get a Mopar strut tower brace installed at a Mopar dealer, get them to sign a waiver that specifically states that this does not in any way void any warranty. If they do claim it voids the warranty, then escalate it to Dodge at the next level up, and get THEM to send you the proof that it does not.

BTW the Magnuson-Moss act states that a warranty cannot be voided in one area from an unrelated part installed in another area. Can't dodge the warranty on the engine because you put on some racing stripes.

Also, get some Mopar splash guards behind the wheels. They are inexpensive, almost invisible, and save the paint.

I don't know if it makes a noticeable difference as it was installed when I bought the car but I like the look of the mopar one. The mopar brace for the trunk interferes with the usable space but also looks good. I'm assuming they're over priced compared to other versions.

Check out the BMR rear brace....works well and doesn't take up nearly as much space.

That's a far nicer brace, I think, then the trunk-cluttering (and possibly more effective for chassis stiffness) Mopar version.

I was skeptical about this front brace since there is as you know the bar that runs in front of the cowl if it would do much, but it did tighten up the front . but the biggest difference period was installing the rear strut brace by Petty, if you do not want any rougher ride this bar is not for you or if you need all your trunk space its not for you, but it really tightened it up and very noticeable . I looked at all braces available a few years ago and this in my opinion was the more sturdy one that I seen at the time and stronger than the mopar version , and who would know more about handling than Petty garage? that' my opinion and maybe the others are fine too?

a rougher ride? I am curious how a piece that steadies the two tower braces would lead to a rougher ride.

it stiffened up the car = tightened up the suspension ,better handling it does what it supposed to do. I have no problem with it as I said in my opinion against one of my customers that has a mopar rear strut bar on his challenger SRT my car is tighter more firm, stiffer than his. there is not much give verses his. you have four point mounting , some do not. what ever works for a person and that is the reason for different designs. again that's my opinion

I can tell by looking at the two systems that the Petty one would be more rigid. Is the ride actually rougher or does it make noises that cause it to be perceived as being rougher?

I think a full cage would be the way to go, but sound deadening would be in order to make it so every pebble you ran over wouldn't be transmitted straight to your ears.

BTW a Dodge road racing car a decade or more ago tied its cage directly into its rocker panels as they were found to be so rigid in FEA that they made an excellent addition to the full space frame instead of adding new frame rails.

Ah, yes, good old finite element analysis.

I to, have the mopar front brace and I think the mopar brace is better looking and bigger tubing and stronger also.
