Watch this top speed run of a stock 6.1 Challenger SRT.

It hits 179.57 mph (289 KPH).

The 6.1 engine uses an aluminum intake manifold with larger-diameter, shorter, and tapered runners for high-speed tuning. It makes its power at high rpms- 425 HP at 6,200 RPM and 420 lb-ft at 4,800 RPM.

SRT Tom, where did you do this? On the Garden State Parkway? LOL :D

Seriously, this guy drove at 180 mph on a road shared by other vehicles while shooting a video of it? A new definition of irresponsible that can give Dodge owners a bad reputation. It sure didn't look like the Autobahn.

The highway visual seems way out of sinc with the speedometer to me. It doesn't seem he's passing those trucks and the highway lines at anywhere near that speed. But I don't have an explanation as to how he could have accomplished this.

You may be right, look at this 167 mph run by a Challenger SRT on the autobahn. Magazines cite the top speed at 174 mph.

Wouldn't want to be his passenger. This one seems even faster.

I have been 135 MPH in mine and had plenty left on a very clear and smooth road , there is just no autobahn in my neck of the woods.
