The fastest American production car is no longer the Demon 170. It is the electric Lucid Air Sapphire. In 10 drag strip runs the Demon lost 10 of 10. The fastest time for the Sapphire was 9.0 sec.

Also, in this video a good explanation is given how timing lights work. Particularly the double beam and roll-out.

The only problem is the cost of $249,000.

The Lucid is not a car! I do not recognize any battery operated POS as an automobile therefore the real car from Dodge is still the fastest production CAR!

There will always be a faster car, it just a matter if that's all you care about...

You can say that the Demon is the fastest ICE car.

I always say, how about running the Indy 500, how long will the battery last, and how long for pit stop charging?

To reference something as a POS indicates you believe it to be inferior (please enlighten us). The electric vehicles that are eating your lunch are most definitely cars ;)

Hybrid technology is currently incorporated in INDYCAR and Formula E is in it's 11th season.

My wife has a Rav4 PHEV, but that is not the topic. Were were talking cars that are 100% dependent on stopping, and charging for 1/2 hour or longer. And if you are in line. :dogpile:
Do you have an EV, do you take it on long trips?
