Came across this while researching whether diff movement is thought to be involved in a diff failure and whether a brace might be beneficial. Anyone personally impacted? Well, I've got almost 22k on my 21 challenger 1320. No issues. And I do drag race it throughout the year. That being said, after 2 years of racing it, I decided I better get a diff brace put on, since that's obviously a lot of twisting motion and stress on things. I bought a diff brace and the optional race brace from per4mance development.
I would also consider installing the aftermarket driveshaft mid bearing support before you have to replace the completed bearing assembly. The nice thing about this one is you do not have to remove the driveshaft to install it. JXB Performance Driveshaft Center Support Bearing Upgrade | website (getper4mance.com)
On my 2010 there's just one front diff mount and when making the swap to LSD (the auto trans Challengers at that point were equipped with the open / non LSD) it requires a much longer bolt and it's a pain to tighten cause it's received by a rotating piece that's difficult to keep from spinning. It may be the same front diff bolt your Challenger has 2 of. Do you know whether they too get tightened into a rotating host?
I'm not sure, to be honest. I had a shop put it on for me, since I don't have a lift and I had it in for some exhaust work anyway.
The diff I swapped in was from my same year (manual trans with the 3.91) fortunately as perhaps using a diff with 2 front mounts might've been problematic or not possible.
