the dodge daytona was actually faster than the bird and of-coarse more aero, but IMO the bird was much better looking.
You're right. A Superbird has a .31 coefficient of drag while a Daytona’s drag coefficient is .29- about a 20% increase in aerodynamic efficiency over the standard Charger. On the high banks of Daytona and Talladega, this gave the Daytona an advantage of somewhere between 1–3 mph over the Superbird, which was significant in competition, and especially so over the course of a 500 mile race. the Daytona won the championship in 1970 driven by bobby Isaac in the K&K dodge out of fort wayne indiana , i was fortunate to have seen those cars in action back in the day. and visit with them in the pits also.like i said in the past every plymouth and dodge dealer either had the chance to order one or chrysler sent the dealer what ever they wanted too. we were one of those dealers below is the the car we received.
