New to me low mile 2012 SRT8. I'd like to freshen the coolant. I understand it was the last year for HOAT? Anyone have a part number? Is there a procedure to follow? Is it even possible to drain all the old stuff or do people just drain and refill the rad?

The Chrysler Part Number for 5-yr./100,000 mile coolant is #68048953AC. You can buy it on Amazon:

    Amazon.com: Genuine Mopar Parts 68048953AC Antifreeze/Coolant - 1 Gallon Bottle : Automotive

Here is a step-by-step procedure on how to flush your cooling system:

Also, I would suggest that you read this informative article that explains the differences between HOAT and OAT coolant:

Unless you really like working on your car and have some mechanical knowledge, I would take it to your dealer. That's what I do, every 5 years.

Well I gave it a shot today. Got the rad drained. Couldn't pull the block drain plugs. They are not a straight shot reach with a ratchet and extension (and 14mm socket). Even with a wobble extension I couldn't get them. I might have gotten them if I tried a bit longer but started to worry about getting them back in.
I pulled the bleeder plug and installed a brake bleeder (Dorman 13915). The bleeder worked well with a clear hose attached. I got 5 litres from the rad and then I pulled the hose that goes from the plastic reservoir to toward the back of the motor, blocked the opening, pinched the overflow and blew light pressure into the hose to get more antifreeze out. I got a bit over 7 litres of the old stuff out in total. it looked pretty clean. I put in about the same amount of new 50/50 mix with the engine running after I closed the bleeder. Took it for a drive and checked the level the nest day. Refill was pretty easy with no trapped air or need to fill more. After a bit of driving I can repeat the process to get it freshened up more. coolant.JPG coolant2.JPG
