Ever since the Challenger debuted in 2008, there has been a total absence of dealer newspaper ads in my (southern NJ) area. (There are plenty of ads, however, for Darts, 300s, Jeeps, Caravans, Town & Country, etc.). In fact, I have only seen two ads in the past 5 years. I know that the Challenger is a low production car, but it seems strange.

Have you noticed this in your area as well?

I think that is because the Challenger is such a special niche that they sell themselves, because people that want a Challenger do all the leg work and ads are not going to make them buy one. You either want one or you don't. It is such a specialty car that it is not for everyone.

I'm in central Florida and now that you mention it, it does seem odd there aren't many ads for Challengers. I think StormRider hit it right on the nose though, there is definitely a niche customer base. It's the way Jeeps used to be before they sold out with the 4door model. Now everyone and their brother has one. I'm kind of glad I'm not seeing a lot of Challenger ads!

Since you posted this, I have seen more challenger website ads then I have recently. Every dodge ad I see is a challenger ad. So that may show they are still putting money into advertising for the challenger.
