Got it in a bag of rice right now, but it was being detected by my car last night and the car started. So I think I got lucky.
Did you open it up to make sure the battery contact points are also drying out? Mine fell out of my shirt pocket a couple years ago into the pail of water I was using to wash my car with, didn't notice till I went to empty the pail. After thorough drying it still works.
This has been tough to get used to. I was used to putting my keys in a drawer now I'm constantly leaving my FOB in my pocket. I'm afraid I'll lose it. It's good to know it may survive the wash.
It's simple to open. 1. Remove the valet key by pushing on the slide and pulling it straight out. 2. Using a thin-bladed screwdriver or a knife edge, unsnap the key fob by gently prying around all of the edges. 3. Once the key fob splits apart, simply pull out the old battery and dry things out. (Don't worry, there are no loose parts). 4. When dry, align the two halves of the key fob and snap them together. 5. Reinsert your valet key.
^^^ Thanks for putting that up ( how to open ) my wife is the one that opened mine up to dry it out and replace the battery. lol
