I'm new here and am seriously thinking of getting a Challenger next year to replace my current daily driver.

I was in CA for work this week and put about 200 miles on a 2014 Challenger R/T. It was quick, comfortable, and I liked it overall.

The things I didn't like as much were just like the 73 Challenger I owned years ago- the squashed rear window, and I whacked my head on the roof once when getting out.

    Overall, I'd say it's boss.

The Scat Pack Challenger featured in a recent issue of Mopar Muscle, with the 6.4, caught my attention. Any opinions on it?

    Thanks.

    Dave

Yea, sorry. This forum isn't hugely active, especially of the weekend. Its going be faster then the R/T but still have the, as you said it, squashed rear window and you will possibly hit your head a few times. Why not go for the hellcat? :favorites37:

Thanks. The Hellcat is too rich for my blood, especially doing about 30k a year.

I agree. Scat Pac or the 392 would be a nice upgrade to the R/T you were driving/renting. I would go with either.

Back in 2010 when I got mine there was only 3 choices, SXT, R/T and SRT8.
Now there are multiple ways to go, just for the heck of it why not see if you can rent a 392 as that would be comparable to the Scat Pack as far as power goes. The nice thing is the pricing on the Scat Pack is more reasonable but with the 392 power just not all the bells and whistles.

The downside for me is that I've driven 30-35K a year for the last 10 years.

That changed today. I found out that, unless I'm traveling for work, I no longer have a commute. I officially got kicked out of the office and am working from home.

Good mileage reduction plan, if you ask me.

If I was working from home, then I'd lean toward the 392 over the 345.

I put about 20,000 miles a year on my R/T Classic and enjoy the car. But I wouldn't mind have the extra horsepower that's missing compared to my '05 GTO.

You've got to like that, get the boss to fill the tank when you have to drive some where for work purposes. Then stop at the track do a few runs then home.
