It always amazes me how much machinery is involved in manufacturing anything automotive. You look at all the presses, forges, milling machines, robots, just stuff! It must cost millions to create a factory like that and all it makes are wheels. Think about the factories making entire cars! Or trucks, or airplanes! Having spent my whole career in the computer industry, I never got a feel for heavy-duty manufacturing. There’s a saying that goes “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic”. Well, this stuff is FM to me!
