    Well, today was the day!
Finally finished my exhaust! Very happy with the results. So much so, I'm sorry I have such a nice stereo since I probably won't be listening to it very much from now on.
So, the day started with a little disappointment. As soon as we got the car on the lift and looked at the tailpipe hanger/exhaust tip mount, it was apparent that I would not be able to do the oversized tailpipe. If you want to retain the factory mount which is also a brilliant adjustable mount for the tips, you're limited to a 2.75" outlet. Boo! Oh well, so we used 3" pipe in place of the rear *mufflers*(resonators) but it's still attached to the hanger which is 2.75". The modification was straightforward and since it retains the factory tips, it doesn't give anyone any clue that the car isn't stock.
So...the sound. Awesome! The Flowmaster Super 40's are the ticket IMO. Great, deep, mellow tone and just the right volume. Actually reminds me of my Cobra quite a bit. Love the sound!
Now, about the asterisks around the word muffler above.
Not sure if anyone has ever heard this but I have been doing a lot of reading about Dodge exhaust systems and recently read an article that really got me thinking. In the article they said that Chrysler specially engineered the exhaust systems of their vehicles with MDS. Those vehicles got two sets of mufflers on them. Mid-mounted mufflers for 8 cylinder attenuation, and rear mounted mufflers for 4 cylinder attenuation.
This revelation completely makes sense when you consider how much silencing we get from what we think are resonators. I think the factory exhaust systems on our cars are quite a bit more complicated than we know. Much more engineering involved than I would've ever thought. But...I still hacked them off and tossed them!:D

Glad it worked out for you. Did you take any before and after pictures?

No. Nothing much to take pictures of. Replaced the mid mufflers with Flowmaster Super 40's and replaced the rear mufflers with straight pipe. Rear hangers and tips (outlets) look 100% original and untouched.

I’d like to hear a sound clip of a cold start. As mentioned Ive been thinking of doing the Blast’in Bobs delete kit. Were the rear mufflers round type. Not very large? Not sure if the Hellcat’s would be the same.

They looked the same as all I've seen on recent model Scat Packs and Hellcats. Couldn't say how long they have been in use or specifically what models have them. Fairly large cylindrical shaped. I'll see what I can do with a cold start clip but I will tell you that online clips I found were relatively useless. Even when viewed on my desktop computer with high quality speakers, it's all but impossible to replicate the low frequency sounds that the exhaust systems are emitting. And you can't judge volume since you have nothing to compare it to. Even using a db meter may seem helpful but again, you have nothing to compare it to. Unfortunately, exhaust systems are something that needs to be experienced in person, which is why it's so hard to choose one.
One thin I can tell you is that my current setup does generate mild to moderate drone at part throttle around 2000-2100rpm with the windows closed. Windows open is fine.

No clue how to post a video clip. Even with the resolution set to minimum the video file is too big to upload. Guess I'll have to ask one of my kids!;)
