HEMI Billboard Stripe

    What do you think of this computer-generated HEMI stripe? Thumbs up or down?

    Personally, I do not think that the high-hip line of the Challenger is suited for this 1971 'Cuda-style stripe.

    Compare it with my old 'Cuda.

    Not of fan of body stickers, a stripe is nice though. Historically required on the Cuda.

    Here is an interesting story about the 1971 'Cuda billboard stripe.

    In 1970, the 'Cuda had a "hockey stick" engine call out decal. For the 1971 model, the management at Plymouth wanted something a little more flamboyant. After several failed attempts, the designers became very frustrated. To spite them, they decided to present the biggest and most outrageous stripe possible. To their surprise, management loved it! The rest is history.

    I did not like the the 71 bill board stripe at all ,I thought it took away the beauty of a cuda. My father never sold a new 71 cuda with the bill board stripe , i do remember a customer had the dealership install the 70 hockey stick stripes on a new 71 though , but on a newer 3rd gen challenger it even looks even more like a stool specimen. and the wheels on both cars do not do them any justice either. but they are mopars and mopar or no car! Dream On into yeterday .... Beep! Beep!

    When I first saw the billboard stripe, I didn't like it. However, it grew on me and I became a big fan of it.

    For it to look good, it has to be black. The white billboard stripes were horrendous, especially on brown 'Cudas.

    It's not terrible, but it's not great, either. The "Hemi" letters are a little squashed. I think they could have done a better job. Not a fan of the color, either. I've never liked silver cars, or silver-gray, or titanium...

    I like the one on your 'Cuda, Tom.

    I never liked the billboard stickers as it was too much. I have always liked the side stripes on my 72 and 74 Cuda. So I went with something similuar on my 13 and 23. :)

    I like the billboard, and I liked the picture you posted. Silver on dark gray looks great.
