    Hello all,

I am really excited about my challenger SXT that I bought on May 2012, I enjoy every moment driving my car but sometimes a bit worried about my wife eating inside the car or my two kids fighting and kicking seats. :Frustrated: I changed the oil (not the dealer, I hate those guys) around 1000 m and instead I went to a tiny shop where they changed. They charged me for the oil (synthetic blend/canister???/oil filter) around 56 bucks!!! I just want to know if someone who lives in San Diego trust a shop/not dealer to do the car maintenance. I will appreciate any suggestion. This will bring me peace of mine since I am always worry about what is going to happen with my car. This is the fist time that I have a car like this and I really want it to keep it until the rest of my days!

    Thanks for your help

$56 sounds about right for an oil change nowadays, especial using synthetic. Are you not liking that price?

Welcome to the forum BTW. Lets see some pics of your chally.

I pay $50 in North Carolina for an oil change. So the price seems fair for California. WELCOME to the forum and show some pics of your ride.

    Welcome to the neighborhood!

That isn't a bad price for an oil change at all. When purchasing oil, it is very true that you get what you pay for. As for trusting an independent shop to do the maintenance, even if you aren't mechanically inclined, learn as much as you can about the required maintenance and make sure the shop does what you ask. Never fully trust anyone with your vehicle, always double check behind them on what they say and do so that you know they are a good shop to work with.
