The prices for the new Charger EV have been released and they are insane. A base R/T will run you $69k plus, tax, fees and markups which will probably push it closer to $80k. A Scat Pack will cost $83k plus tax, fees and markups. Also, you will have to factor in 7% financing- that's $100k!
The fact it is going to be the biggest niche EV of all time, is even more insane. No one that likes the Hemi will buy one.
Yeah, but what if the Fratzonic sound is better than that of the HEMI? lol. Here's how it works. Dodge’s Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust represents a departure from the standard practice of using speakers to mimic engine noise. Instead, it employs a series of chambers strategically placed underneath the vehicle. These chambers, in combination with woofers and mid-range speakers, produce the “exhaust” notes. The sounds are then channeled through dual pipes, similar to those found in ICE vehicles.
The dealers of any big brand, are running the other direction from EVs. You have to pay a premium to keep them on your lot where they will sit for a long time. And who is going to fix them, ICE mechanics. Carlos needs to wake up from his UrAPeon dream, that we are all going to line up for EVs or what ever they try and feed us. Bahhhh
They have lost their minds, I will not have an EV of any kind and certainly will not pay those prices. Hopefully the upcoming chargers with the twin turbo 6 will be more reasonable in price and I would actually look at one and want to test drive one.
In Vancouver, Canada you can purchase a 2015 black on black manual trans Hellcat for under $50k US with 22k miles or a 2015 B5 blue on black Scat with 35k miles for $33k US (2 of many quick examples). I get the appeal of a new vehicle purchase for some but not at many of todays prices.
