Why is it that when guys try to imitate the look of a 1970 Challenger that they always choose Road Wheels?

Back in the 70s, there also was another option-Deluxe Rallye Wheels. These are what I had on my 1971 'Cuda. Personally, I think that they looked much better.

When the 2008 Challenger was being designed, they decided to use the Alcoa forged aluminum wheel on the SRT because it evoked the classic spoked wheel. Watch the following designer video (start at 3:15 min. mark).

There is an aftermarket company (Year One?) offering rallye wheels for the modern Challengers (and Chargers and 300's) - too bad they're way out of my budget at the moment.
I agree that the rallye wheels look nicer on the E-bodies than the road wheels (magnum 500's), but on earlier B-bodies, I really like the look of the road wheels.

My 71 Road Runner had the 15 inch Rallye wheels from the factory. I've always loved the Magnum 500 wheel so I put them on and took the Road Wheels off. I went with 15x10 on the rear and 15x8 on front it makes the car look much better to me.

The one reason why I went with the 2010 Classic wheels. To keep that old school look. But I do love those rally wheels. I would believe if I were to change I would go with the rally wheels.
