I need to put a trickle charge this winter on my 2019 RedEye. Any suggestions on the brand/model I should use? And, can I hook it up to the posts in the engine bay? If so, do you guys just run the wires to the floor or pop them out through the headlight openings? Thanks!
I leave the hood ajar. https://www.amazon.ca/Charging-Mult...id=1699420521&sprefix=trickle,aps,758&sr=8-42
Same here. I also attach one terminal to the positive post in the engine bay. The other one is attached to the metal frame as a ground. Here are the top 5 trickle chargers: https://reviewed.usatoday.com/home-outdoors/best-right-now/best-trickle-chargers
You can also trickle charge from any battery charger that has a 1-3 amp setting. The trickle chargers have an auto shut off which my battery charger doesn't seem to.
Living in Michigan my cars go in mid-November and may not come out until Late April or Early May. I have used this on my 2012 Charger SRT8 for 11 years and 2020 Challenger Scat Pack for the past 3 years. I also have a plug connected to the battery in the trunk so I can safely connect to this charger. Have had ZERO issue. I keep the trunk popped under the car cover in a unheated garage. I was using CTEK for the last 18 years but have now switched over to Deltran that I purchased from Costco about a month ago. I like this battery tender better than the CTEK.
