2019 Challenger RT Plus - Engine Tapping

I made myself a bet that Mobil 1 would be mentioned in one of these replies. Thanks Wizard, I won $5.00!

My 2015 5.7 does the same tick for the first 10-15 sec after sitting a few days. It has 12,800 miles on it. After reading all the possible causes from lifters to exhaust leaks to injector noise, I just let it go. I'll look into it if it gets worse or really bugs me. I did get the extended warranty when I bought it, mainly for coverage of all the power accessories and electronics. I wasn't real concerned with the power train having serious issues. (It not like I drive it going 138 mph.)

Ha, that was great.... still laughing. Leave it to Tom to come up with this. Now I can't get the song out of my head.

 

My 5.7 did exactly the same thing. Noise will disappear after a few seconds. Problem was broken exhaust manifold bolts - rear 2 bolts - passenger side. When you first start the engine, if you listen in the front wheel wells, you can tell which side has broken manifold bolts.
