No. I am very happy with my 6.1 HEMI. It has more than enough power to get me into trouble!

The 6.1 professionally tuned will run W/A stock 392 , there is a lot left in a 6.1 it just needs to be unleashed. I have had two and presently own one.

This reminds me of a 1/4 mile run i did on the same place going both directions in a powershifted first-gen Mazda RX7, hitting about 10,500 RPM between gears.

Average time: 14.0 seconds. 13.0 one way and 15.0 the other way.

The first-gen RX7 motor is for those who LOVE revs. They used to use the Mazda rotary in endurance racing and routinely rev it to 11,500. Endurance racing.

Which, further reminds me of the old Matra V12s of worldwide fame. So distinctive in sound it could be heard over all the other cars going around the entire circuite of Le Mans. That engine, in endurance racing trim was redlined at 11,000 RPM for the entire 24 hours of Le Mans.

As an important note, the 747-jet-engine-tier cooling fan sapping most of the power from the motor had been removed. That was the worst fan-to-motor-size imbalance I have ever seen.

I ran it all winter with no cooling fan. I think the motor made far more power with the fan removed, but in any case, 14.0 second quarter mile time spoke loudly enough.

That's what I heard, its a 6.4 with sleeves, and forged internals. I am glad I had no intention of getting more power out of mine.

Well, there is light at the end of the tunnel, after all.

I would love to see a centrifugal-supercharged Hemi. The only time mileage would suffer is higher in the rev range, but it would easily surpass the IHI in terms of higher PEAK power. I could easily see 900hp at the very top of the rev range at similar boost levels as the IHI, but can people wrap their heads around a rising boost curve?
