Once a year is recommended, depending on how many miles you drive and how dusty the conditions. I can go two years with mine, because of low mileage.

    Here are the cleaning instructions:

Remove the filter from the vehicle and tap it gently against your hand or on the ground.

Measure the length of the filter media with a measuring tape or ruler and then fill a bucket with warm water to the height of the measurement.

Pour 12 ounces of AEM Filter Cleaning solution into the bucket.

Place the filter, bottom end first, into the bucket and soak the filter for 10 minutes.

Wash the filter by grasping the top of the filter and turning it side to side, in the same way you might turn a dial or knob, so that the filter rotates in the water. Turn it for approximately 30 seconds to a minute and then dunk the filter up and down in the water.

Dispose of the dirty water, refill the bucket with water and cleaning solution and repeat this process, soaking, rotating and dunking the filter in the bucket to dislodge dirt and debris.

Rinse the filter thoroughly with water from a hose or tap until you can no longer see any suds from your cleaner or refill the bucket with clean water and rotate and dunk the filter until you can no longer see the suds.

Shake the filter slightly to remove excess water and then set it aside to air dry completely before returning it to your vehicle.

Tip put the filter oil in a spray bottle that has a wide area nozzle. Makes reoiling quick and accurate.

The latest issue of Mopar Performance vol. 26 number 10 the one with the GTX in the weeds on the cover has a great article on CAI's . It's very informative and covers about 10 types and give HP and Torque increase's for each type. They dyno'ed each one before and after.

Mopar muscle has it in the October issue. the mopar cai rated pretty good but was pricey. I didn't even see K&N listed. I liked the one that had the filter pointed down towards the fender cold air suppy it was the JLT cai.
