I realize that...it just seems that they usually have to find something else to run the cost up.
We have a mechanic across the street where we get work like that done. This van was going in next week for its service.

Especially when you bring it in for a FREE RECALL
    Everytime.
    But to be fair,
I guess that has been the ONLY time that I have brought any of my cars in.

    Back to my P0430 HACK

So before I cut up a Brand New O2 Sensor,

I pulled the Left O2 Sensor and drove it in. to work.
    Popped an O2 HEATER Failure.
Well Duh, it is no longer there.
Started looking for a big ass Resistor to handle the Heater Element Current .

    Then I got to thinking,
"This is the Down Stream, After the Cat, O2 Sensor"
    What is it looking for?
    CLEAN AIR, No Hydrocarbons

Pulled Both O2 Sensors, Plugged the Holes
and Tie Wrapped them to the Transmission Crossbrace.

BINGO, Heater Error and P0430 Error GONE :)

    All for $9.99

Odd thing about your story, I believe the sensor in question on a P0430 code is the bank 2 but you pulled the bank 1 sensor?

Because the CAT in Bank-2 has disintegrated.
So, I will Pull BOTH and RotorRout them BOTH.
Figured I would TEST the fix on both rear O2's

While the down-stream O2 sensors have zero to do with anything beyond converter efficiency, the fact that your converter(s) have gone bad does generally point to a mechanical problem that should be rectified.

    Well, that didn't work.

    50 miles and popped
    P2096 and P2098
    Fuel Trim System too Lean

So I just pulled the O2 sensors and taped the ends.
