It is never a good idea to put chemicals anywhere they don't belong. Imo. I understand additives and what not but I agree. It is the same as your bleach comment. Although, I have to add about drinking bleach, I am a nurse and I have friends in poison control. They tell me they get many calls where an adult accidentally drank bleach and are afraid. How does it happen? Well usually they have it in a glass or cup that was moldy (ewe) and instead of washing it they bleach it, forget it has bleach in it and drink it.

What happens is they upchuck immediately. They will experience a little irritation in the throat but that's it. The body has a way of purging it. Stomach acid isn't happy being mixed with bleach so violently it won't let you drink it. However in the case of kids they may try over and over. So yeah, cars may do the same. It is chemistry when you think about fluids and engineering when you look at parts. But if it wasn't meant to go there, it shouldn't be there.
