My problem has been that virtually as soon as I connect my phone to the car via Android Auto the car’s navigation loses GPS connection.
I don't have GPS on my Challenger and I don't miss it. I use the Waze app. It provides not only driving directions but, also, road hazards and police updates.
I generally just use Google Maps on my phone but as soon as you plug the phone in to charge it via the USB port, Android Auto takes over and then my GPS loses signal.
As much as I'm tempted by Apple Car Play ... sometimes I think I'm better off with my '15. The factory NAV system works pretty good and isn't reliant on having a phone signal. Just wish updates were: free, more complete, more frequent.
Hi, I'm sorry to hear this. Please let me know if you plan on visiting a dealership for this concern. I would be happy to open a case for you. Alison Dodge Cares
It’s weird how the GPS in the car works just fine if you’re using the in-car nav, and the GPS on my phone works fine on it’s own. It’s just when you plug the phone into the car that you lose the GPS signal for some reason. Luckily, I generally don’t use my car for any long distance driving that requires navigation so it’s not a big deal. Some day I’ll get the dealer to look at it.
My Challenger has become my go-to car for many of our trips ... except ones to my in-laws former house because it's on a poorly maintained dirt road. I often use the NAV even for routes that I know where I'm going so that it can give me traffic reports. And ... to see how much I can beat the Arrival Time estimate by. Kudos to DodgeCares for taking an interest in this board and offering assistance. Nicely done.
Our SUV is our go-to for trips. I have no problem using the Challenger but my wife prefers the SUV so...you know. And yes, I appreciate that DodgeCares.
