I said as long as you keep spirited driving.....as a word of advice, not necessarily my practiced behaviour. I love getting on the peddle and hearing that supercharger scream.
I got rid of an old family car to step into the Challenger world:D 7E50DA08-5A7B-4928-9711-2E0F1122FC58.jpeg F09A5DEE-67D4-4A20-9DD6-067701D0670B.jpeg

It was time to let someone else have it. It was bought by a family in Sweden.

Looking back on various forums confirms gas mileage was worse which I have some memory and experience with (440 Roadrunner, 340 Dart, C4 Vette). Fortunately my daily driver (335) which is as fast and just as much fun get's 25 mpg driven the same way.

I agree. My 1971 340 'Cuda averaged 12 mph. The best mileage I ever got was 17 mph on a long interstate drive.

That whole article is BS. The only time I got MPG figures that low with my '70 Cuda was when I was beating on it. And they mentioned the '88 Pontiac Bonneville. I had an '89 SSE and usually got around 18-20mpg. Plus, the morons couldn't even get the picture right. The picture is of a 9th gen which started in '92.

Agree, the article is BS. The author states that the EPA kept mpg records dating back to 1984, so where did he get his data for 1980 and older vehicles? As a matter of fact, I couldn't find where he referenced any sources for his data.
