Octane gasoline preference

    I love the old gas pumps, especially the gravity-fed ones with the glass globe and the ones with the spinner at the top of the face of the pump. Good old days gone by!

    As mentioned, use what the OM states to use; in your case 91 octane. The difference between 91 and 93 is negligible and you should do perfectly fine with 91. Save that money!

    I sure have, and they do bring big money. I'd like to have a couple of them fully restored outside my garage!

    This is what the owner's manual for my 2009 6.1 engine says about fuel additives:

    "Materials Added to Fuel- All gasoline sold in the United States is required to contain effective detergent additives. Use of additional detergents or other additives is not needed under normal conditions and they would result in additional cost. Therefore, you should not have to add anything to the fuel."

    93 Octane. But don't use SeaFoam. She doesn't like that.
