Never been much of a fan of tinted windows. Yeah, they look good but it makes it difficult to drive at night. Down here in South Florida tinted windows are pretty much a necessity so all my cars have had them. I can totally understand how police would hate the, especially these days.

Wife is the one that TOLD me to Tint the 2010 SRT.
Said Black Car, needs Blacked out Windows.
And NO, I can see just fine at night.
You just need to get in the habit of rolling down BOTH Front Windows when getting pulled over.

A Hint from a Cop that also blacked out his :)

Because my cars spend most of the time in the garage I don't tint, I don't like the look or the way they fade after awhile. All it does is draw cops attention

You may can see fine in your opinion, but you can not see as well as if they tint was not there...........

That's why I have never tinted a vehicle....I don't like it being harder to see out of at night (or during the day), and I've driven in a few tinted cars....did not like it at all.

My car was tinted when I purchased it. The tint is very dark. In the pic of my car, if you can enlarge it, my wife is sitting in the passenger seat and cannot be seen. Sure, it looks great, but I do hate making 90 degree turns at night.
There is a window film that is made of ceramic. I have heard great things about it being better at letting in less heat with lower tint value. When I change out the windshield I am going to have the lightest tint put on even though technically it is still illegal to put anything on the windshield. No one will be able to tell the film is on the windshield and my car will stay cooler inside. That black dash draws and holds onto heat.
If your tinting to keep out heat, maybe consider the ceramic film. If your tinting to make your car look better, go the dark film and deal with restricted vision at night.
