    Explosives? What about the car??

Wouldn't this be like "throwing out the baby with the bath water?"

I thought it was kinda crazy myself, but you’ll find some crazy people in the infantry. I’ll stick with gps recovery device. Just a funny thing, my alarm went off while I was in church last Sunday. But no damage to my challenger. Whew

The Ravelco system has had millions of installs with zero thefts, in the NONE sense of NOT ONE EVER. The most obvious visual deterrent is the Ravelco sticker that goes on the windows.

The club/bar/whatever that visibly locks the steering wheel is more of a deterrent, visually, as to credit thieves with being intelligent enough to even know the Ravelco exists is a stretch, but the obvious difficulty of the cranked wheels and heavy steering wheel lock should convince them to go elsewhere.

There has been a lot of articles written about car thefts in Detroit and California.

In my State of New Jersey, car thefts are also rampant. In 2022, 15,644 cars were stolen. This is 1,000 more than 2021 and 4,000 more from 2022!

In response, the State legislature is sponsoring more than a half dozen bills to raise the stealing of a car a second-degree crime, increasing penalties for crimes such as carjacking and theft, and requiring VIN numbers to be stamped on catalytic convertors. Some, however, state that "getting tough" will not deter thefts. This is because the police only identify and charge suspects in 7% of the cases. Simply put, criminals are committing auto theft because they believe they will not get caught.

What are your thoughts on how to get this epidemic under control?

Agreed. That's what I have on my 2009 SRT for the past 13 years.

"Extra effort" and "car thief" don't really go hand-in-hand, now do they?
