I'm looking to get a set of tires to autocross my 15 SXT on this year and I've got my decision narrowed down to two. Front runner is the Bridgestone Potenza Re-71R in 245/35/19 second is Nitto NT-05 in 255/40/19. Anyone have any experience or comments with either of these tires? I will be using them for autocross only.

I haven't used any of these tires. TireRack, however, tested the Bridgestone Potenza Re-71R, Goodrich S-Force Rival S and Kumho Ecsta V720 tires. While all of these extreme performance summer tires performed well, the nod was given to the Potenza Re-71R tires.

However, in a consumer survey, the Potenza Re-11 tires were rated higher than the Potenza Re-71R tires. This was primarily because of better tread wear and less road noise. These, obviously, would not be concerns on an autocross track.
