For those who bout the STX, do you regret not going with the R/T?

I'm am currently having a hard time justifying the cost of the V8. I plan on using it as a daily driver, plus I live in crowded NJ where I spend more time in traffic than anything.

I am hoping to avoid regretting my V6 decision a few months down the road when the new car novelty wears off.

I debated this for a long-time as well, and finally went with the STX. I also couldn't justify another $10-12k, especially for a daily driver. The R/T only has about 70HP more. I plan to add some aggressive pin striping and spend a little on adding HP via a cold air dam intake ($300 or so), upgrade the throttle body to a ported one, etc. This way, I'll have a fun, one-of-a-kind car without breaking the bank.

You saved over $5k by buying an SXT over an R/T. You are also getting gas mileage- 19/30 mpg vs. 15/23 mpg. So, your purchase of an SXT for a daily driver was a good one.

That being said, there is nothing like the power and sound of a Hemi. I have owned my 2009 SRT 6.1 since December 2008 and still love to drive it.

I saved $10-12k. But I certainly understand the allure of the Hemi. If I win the lottery, I'll get the Hellcat.

Thanks for the responses. I got my STX plus today and was able to get it with the Track Pack package.

    cat back system

What is a good cat back system for the 3.6 ?

I am not a gear head, but I have done a little research looking for a system that will help performance, but won't be loud (because I regularly drive my SXT on a 350 mile roundtrip). The Flowmaster American Thunder system (part # 817737) seems like a good choice, but I have not installed it yet. You can also find & listen to specific systems on YouTube and hear exactly how they sound.

I haven't regretted the decision to go with the SXT Plus yet. I got my 2015 in July and have put 9000 miles on it since then. In the warmer months I'm getting about 29 mpg but since it's gotten colder I'm getting around 27. I drive mine to work everyday and haven't needed the extra hp the Hemi would have provided. I do miss the Hemi sound of my Ram that I traded but I sure enjoy the mpg's.

my first Challenger was a SE 2009 model with the 3.5L 4sp auto, I finally got it in the 14's. all I had on it was dual magnaflow mufflers and a predator tuner and cold air intake. I kept it a little over 2 years before trading it off to get a used 2009RT.
