Hi, I'm a new Challenger R/T owner without a car yet. I live in Illinois and purchased a 2013 from a dealership in North Carolina about a week ago. This week we are out of state on vacation. The car is scheduled to be delivered next week after we return home and sometime after March 8th. I've never seen the car (other than on-line photos) and have never even had my butt in one. However, my first new car was a 1967 Dodge Coronet 440 2 door. From there I went to a 1969 Charger, then a '72 Charger, then a '75 Charger followed by a '78 Magnum. My last 4 cars have all been Sebring convertibles of which I still have 2. I've had other Cordobas, a Fury, and a Ram Charger over the years, as well. My wife has a '15 Durango. Yeah, I've been pretty much a Dodge/Chrysler driver my whole life and doubt that will change any time soon. Even though I've never sat in one, I expect to enjoy this car as much, or more, than any of the other ones I've had.

I hope to learn more about my new ride here and hope to be able to contribute as I learn more about it.

I just got my '12 R/T and it's simply a blast to drive
Everyone always turns their heads right when they see it because it's such a good looking car
It's fast when you want it to be but very comfortable to take long trips in. You'll be happy with your new car!

Get ready for some perhaps unwanted attention. These cars have always had that affect on some people. You and I are close to the same age so, just imagine a 21 year old running around Cobb County, Georgia in a Plum Crazy '70 Challenger back in '71 and '72. Fast forward to today and you will see the wife and I running around Douglas County, Co. in our 2016 R/T in Plum Crazy. I got some competition on the flash factor....There is someone here in town with a new/near new Challenger 392 in Green Go. I see them running around town and they will light up the night with that color. It is bad ass. Keep it down to a roar and keep the shiny side up.

    Enjoy!

Golfnut.... Watch out for the Subaru WRX types. Around here they like to pull up beside or pass on the road making sounds like a busted chain saw. It sounds like a street race challenge, a very risky and illegal practice, something that I outgrew decades ago. I have seen three or four of these buzz bombs racing down the interstate in and out of traffic. They show the same disdain to the Ford and Chevy street machine owners out there also. My guess they are Paul Walker wannabes and we know what happened to him.

Those shouldn't be much of an issue where I live as I believe within a 100 mile radius of me there are 2, maybe 3, Subarus sold every year. :laughing1:

The 2013 R/T was delivered yesterday morning. First of all, what a great riding car. However, I had no idea I needed a PHD in technology to figure out all the features in the car.

Buying a car without seeing it seems to have been a good way to buy it. The dealership (Crown Nissan in Greensboro, NC) was wonderful to deal with and was 110% responsive to all my inquiries. Considering this car had 35,400 miles and is 4 years old, I knew there would be some flaws; but, I was hoping not too many. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the very few blemishes were extremely minor.

Now, my only problem is going to be keeping my wife from using the 0 - 60 stop watch feature. :roflsquared:

Congrats on the new R/T. It's a bit of technology overload for me as well but am learning more all the time. I may try mastering Launch Control at some point.

Good luck with the R/T :)

My 2012 was the first new car I ever bought and like you, I had never even sat in one before either. We tend to take care of our cars so I'm not surprised you don't have many blemishes. I know people are surprised when I tell them mine is a 2012. It doesn't look like one.

I have a 2014 R/T and I love every time I am behind the wheel.
