Are the lanyards stainless steel? I was thinking of maybe having a strong magnet on the lanyard to somehow keep it planted to the hood. I would love that look on my T/A but unsure if it would be "original" to install a Mopar original part that is not on my window sticker. Then there's the drilling that beautiful hood...

How are you installing the hood pin wires? You drilling, or is there a place underneath to bolt to?

Don't do it. Back in the day it had it's purpose, you don't need them now a days and honestly I wouldn't risk scratching the paint. They aren't as cool as you might think on the newer cars.

had them on mine for 5 years and they are plastic coated. was planning to run the Texas mile with mine, and have seen cars lose front spoilers and have had hoods pop up to the emergency latch doing 150mph or higher that can get kinda scary. but they do look old school and I love them on mine. have won 4 best of shows with my car. so I have no regrets putting them on.

Mine are cosmetic hood pins. No drilling and look exactly the same. I'm gonna try them when it warms up enough to. Can always take them off.

So I have some unexpected money coming in. I was thinking of going with the Mopar Hood Pins instead of the stick on ones. Anyone know the best place to order from? I’m also checking on installation as I won’t be doing that myself. Thanks.

try Steve White Motors. he will have the mopar ones, they come in block or chrome.

well I installed my own, took about an hour for me to do it, cause I have a fiberglass hood. your but starts to pucker when drilling onto a $1000 hood. measure 20 times to cut once. but once it was done....... it worked out just fine.
