Just got my first Challenger. 2009 R/T. We went looking for a daily driver and my wife felt sorry for me.
Sweet so she took you balls off the mantle? Good deal, post some pictures up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My Challenger is my daily driver, right now I don't add that many miles. Welcome from Illinois. Mopar or No Car, Sent from my Moto G Play using Tapatalk
Welcome.....I spend a lot of time on the job in the Denver/Aurora area. I seem to be seeing more and more Challengers on the roads these days. Not a bad thing. I see more now than back in the day say, '71-'73. I guess because Dodge has had a successful run of production since the '08-'09 reintroduction of this '70s icon. Not to sell anyone of our Ford/Chevy retro owners short, I am seeing plenty of the SS Camaro and 5.0 Mustang on the road also. I think all that is missing is a new 'Cuda in a '71 retro in Hemi Orange sporting fender gills and 'Cuda teeth in the grill. Keep the horses in the barn and the shiny side up.
Sometimes it is kind of a downer that the State Patrol does such a good job of policing the highways. You have a straight shot on I-25 south all the way down to New Mexico and beyond or west on U.S. 50.....both are good places to let the horses out of the barn. Not that I have ever done such a thing, just supposin', you know? Welcome to the forum. B5 Blue is almost a rare color in these parts. Here is a good Sunday drive......South on I-25 from Pueblo to Walsenburg and west on U.S. 160 over La Veta pass down into the San Luis Valley. When you get to Ft. Garland slow down and look north.....the view will be the 14ers Little Bear and Blanca with the connecting ridge, one climb that I have yet to do, hence my handle, "Climber". That said, continue towards Alamosa and cut north towards the Sand Dunes across the San Luis Valley to up and over Poncha Pass down to Poncha Springs, turn right on U.S. 50 east through many speed zones back to Pueblo West. This is a fine drive in say maybe October or maybe into November on a dry and blue sky day. Lots of wide and straight open spaces that tempt me to run well over the posted speed limit. You are probably familiar with this route but for the curious out there that may want to trace it on a map or go there, there it is. More than once I have seen a high powered Mopar/Ford/Chevy machine hauling ass through the San Luis Valley.....The State Patrol does a fine job here also, they seem to come out of nowhere in a Hemi Charger. Not that I would know personally about this sort of thing, just sayin', OK?
Sounds like a very nice drive. Sadly that will have to wait until we get the head gasket replaced (crossing my fingers isn’t only the gasket). Once she is feeling better we will probably take that drive next summer. We are hoping to be able to attend SEMA next year and planned on driving her to Vegas. I know of two 2010 B5 blue srt 8’s in Southern Colorado one is ours and the other is an acquaintance we met at the local dragstrip here in Pueblo. We are hoping next season to drag the two side by side of course he will beat us cause he has many mods on his engine and ours is stock, but oh well it will still be fun.
