I know its been drug through the mud... i have been researching for the last couple of weeks and have found no conclusive answer that i like. here's where I'm at. 2015 scat pack challenger. 6.4, m6. 28,000 miles. it's now 600 miles into its 3rd tranny. all replaced under factory warranty. yay, but im not satisfied with the trans. I plan on doing a barton shifter. but even with that, these sychros just suck. I know the vipers, corvettes, camaros, chargers and challengers all have the tr6060 but strictly speaking for the chargers and challenger, bc all others use different synchros, what fluid has made them behave the best? what fluids have made them worse than they were?
I had read a thread where some people would praise RP sychromax, and redline D4, says it shifts like butter now, but those fluids are not recommended and will undoubtedly kill the synchros over time. Some people just shouldn't be allowed to mess with stuff. and i get the feeling that many of those kinds of guys are commenting throwing these unapproved fluids out there.

    i am considering:
    Royal Purple MAX ATF
    Amsoil Torque Drive
    Redline C+

and any other that you all have had luck with.

on a side note, i have a hum or whine i would assume its from the diff, but i cannot confirm. it hasnt changed with any of the trans ive had in the car. its not crazy loud and changes with speed but not as much as one would think from a diff that is about to fail. i dont notice it as much in the lower gears. mainly 5th and 6th. it only happens when i apply gas. even slightly. if i let off, it goes away. Part of me thinks it could be an electronic noise. the throttle body is electronic no? anyone else experience this noise? do all of the scat pack m6 guys reading this have this noise?

Hope this helps you out... I have a 2014 392 M6 that was doing this same stupid thing. Let off the gas a little in higher gears and it would sing like a bird. I complained to the dealer about it and finally got them to listen to me, had to get SRT involved. Luckily I had purchased an extended warranty on the car when I bought it in Feb. 2018, with that said, they replaced the diff. Yaaaay! noise went away. Now, don't fret, I did some more checking cause it started to do it again not too long ago and this time I'm convinced it's the "center bearing/carrier bearing" which holds the 2 piece driveshaft together. It starts this same crap when it's heading to the failure zone. Pretty soon, I'll have nothing but Amsoil in my car. I have it in the engine now. I've been running it for over 30yrs in all my stuff and never an issue. I'm talking 4wheel drive trucks when trucks were trucks, and in my motorcycles both racing and street bikes and my Harley's. It's just the best thing out there in my experienced opinion. Oh yeah, my SRT has 113,000+ miles on it and like I said the rearend is new (5,000 miles) and it had the stupid cam trouble which some of them are known for. "throwing #3 intake lifter sideways and grinding the cam lobe down to a donut?" Yeah, new cam, lifters, pushrods, timing gear set, gaskets and sparkplugs. All under warranty. Sometimes, yeah I drive it like I stole it, sometimes I just enjoy it going easy and listening to that motor hum. It's been straight piped from the cats back and I get 26mpg driving to Asheville, NC. to work and when I'm playing with it I get 20. Again, I hope this helps ya'll out.

    Have a great one!

I meant to mention, I recently installed the Barton shifter. I love it! Everything is different and super close and tight. One thing for sure, double check yourself 3x's if you need to, just to make absolutely certain you get those damn pins in right. The leftside pin-clip rotates up to lock in place on the bellhousing, and the one on the righhand side rotates down and kinda forward. Make sure you feel them snap in position because it's not that noticeable but can be felt. Do the leftside first and it makes the rightside a little bit easier. I have very small hands, like a kid almost and I had a devil of a time getting the rightside into the hole. It's just very tight between the firewall-sheetmetal- and the batting/insulation on that side.

    Again, have a great one!
