    Hi All
I just bought this challenger in Nor Cal on Sunday. I have always been a mopar guy but this is my first challenger. I also have a 70 Charger and an SRT4 (which is now going to be sold). I have been reading a lot on this site the last couple days. Great info. I see a lot of people reference a site called "top 200 challenger things" or something to that effect but the links are dead. I am looking for the basic "do these first" threads for us new guys.

    Enjoy your new-to-you Challenger!

I think the first mod most people make is a catch can ---- though I never go around to putting one on my '11 Challenger R/T --- or my '13 Charger R/T.

I did put a catch can on my SRT4 but I don't see any benefit from it.

The first thing i need to sort is why the push button start doesnt work. I have to use the fob. The push buttons on the door dont work either. I think it is related. I am a total noob.

Well a carch can on a 4 cylinder probably wouldn't help much as it would on a v6 or a V8, the V8's have a tendency to dump more oil from the PVC system into the intake manifold. hence the catch can which can collect that oil. I dump mine out about every 3,000 miles and it is about 1/2 full.

as far as the push button start, there is a module under the dash which activates it. That may need replacing I would take it that you don't have any warranty left or coverage for your car. so, you would probably have to buy it. as far as the door panel controls, that is under a different system than the ignition.

Good info on the catch can. Thanks. I actually do have a warranty but a deductible also.
Am i wrong in thinking I should be able to just pull the fob out, pop in the button, push and hold it and start the car?

nope, cant do that, the push button start has a module to go with it. and then the computer has to be flashed by the tech so it can read it.
