AutoWise is reporting that the former Viper Conner Avenue Assembly Plant will begin retooling in order to start the production of a “specialty” vehicle with “legendary roots”- probably a Dodge/Chrysler SRT 'Cuda. The engine looks to be a “strengthened” 6.2L or 6.4L with a larger bore of 105.4-mm and longer stroke. On top will sit the next-gen 2.4L Supercharger with a updated gear ratio. This could put the 2020 'Cuda at 800+ horsepower with the right fuel.

    https://autowise.com/2020-dodge-cud...il for a,for $26,750 and $26,600 respectively

Sounds like more BS! Who sells a car like that for $26,000? And it's supposed to be a specialty car! So it should be a lot more $ than a Challenger.
Put these rumors to rest already.

Did you read the last sentence from the article?

"The new Dodge Barracuda is estimated to retail for a price of $28,690, in a similar price category to the existing Dodge Challenger. The base 2020 ‘Cuda is expected to be priced similarly to the new Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro, with base models that retail for $26,750 and $26,600 respectively. However, a performance model could sell for up to $70,000."

There's talk about Challenger and Charger being replaced or a major upgrade in 2023.

Spoke to the Mopar rep at my buddy's dealership about this about a month ago. He was kind of evasive about it. Showed me pictures of the upcoming 3-row Grand Cherokee which looked nice but wouldn't confirm when the Challenger replacement was coming or whether the Barracuda was real or not.

There are rumors of an in-line 6, with twin turbo-chargers, in 2023, that will produce up to 525 hp. We will have to see if it will be in the new Challenger or, possibly, a 'Cuda.

I'll believe it when I see it on the Dodge dealer's lot and I welcome a 'Cuda reborn. The '71 was my favorite.....fender gills, grill teeth, dual headlights. I want to see one in Hemi Orange with a 5.7 supercharged hooked up to 6 speed manual. If they were to put one out in Panther Pink my wife would be all over it. An inline six I just don't know.....I understand the leap in technology since back in the day but my old school/old fart way of thinking keeps me biased towards the V8 Hemi.

Or the twin turbo 6 could go into a Dodge Daytona or Superbird... :);)
