Dodge, through Dec. 31, 2019, is offering tremendous discounts on its performance models through a Power Dollars Program. Here's how it works. For every horsepower, you get $10 off on three vehicles: the Challenger, Charger and Durango. This that means a 797-hp Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye has $7,970 off while a standard Challenger SRT Hellcat has a $7,170 discount. On the more practical end of performance, the Charger SRT Hellcat and Durango SRT get $7,070 and $4,750 off, respectively. Even the least powerful Challenger with its 305-hp 3.6-liter V-6 has an enticing $3,050 discount, while the lower Chargers and Durangos get between $2,930 to $3,000 off depending on the trim level (see chart, below). According to Tim Kuniskis, head of passenger cars for FCA in North America, the goal of the Power Dollars program is to get more performance vehicles into the hands of enthusiasts and allow those who are already owners to upgrade to something more powerful within the lineup. In reality, this promotion is an attempt to boost lagging sales and clear out the 2019 models. As of June 2019, Charger sales are up 9% year-to-date while Challenger sales are down 23%. Also, since bringing the Charger and the Challenger back to the market, Dodge has put 485 million horsepower into the hands of its loyal enthusiasts. The goal is to grow to a half-billion horsepower before the end of the year," explained Tim Kuniskis. So, it's 15 million horsepower short of the milestone. It needs to sell about 18,820 examples of the Hellcat Redeye to reach its goal, or approximately 51,370 units of the Charger SXT. One of my daughters is looking to upgrade their 2015 Town and Country van to a Pacifica. I wonder how much she'd get as a discount!
Very cool way to promote them...Think I’ll hang onto my 2010 for now. Can’t justify spending $60 G Canadian on a new car. Although there is a beautiful black Scat Pack with Shaker hood at a dealer I drive by everyday.....
I'm the same. I love my 2009 Hemi-orange SRT. Sure, I would like more power, but there will always be someone faster. Just think, the 5.7 Hemi was fast...the 6.1 was faster...the 6.4 was way faster...the 6.2 Hellcat was lightning fast...and the 6.2 Demon was out of this world fast!
The Power Dollars Program ends on January 2, 2020. Although ordering already stopped on Oct. 23, you can still get this major discount by buying a Challenger off a dealer lot.
On the Brightside, In connection with the power dollars program (I think), the Dodge Horsepower Challenge sweepstakes gives us all a chance at a Redeye, and for free! a slightly better deal if you ask me.
as enticing it is, I just cant do that kind of pricing any more. I Ram listed for just $36,000 and a decent trade plus about $1000 to put down , but that was my limit. I priced a new Challenger RT SCAT PACK 392 shaker and it was right at $50,000 that turned me off right away, even with this new pricing adjustments I would be still looking at over $700 - $800 a month and that would be for 7 years. Frankly I don't know how you guys do it,...... but you must have one hell of a great paying job...... hell my ram is just over $500 . I can remember back in the day that I wouldn't ever pay $300 a month for a car, well my 2009 Challenger RT is paid for but my wife has a 2018 Challenger blacktop SXT. I would love to trade my truck off for a Gladiator but that aint happening either......At 64 years of age I don't want to go to my grave making payments I cant afford. I am a retired teacher in Louisiana and lord knows that don't give you much
I know what you mean about cars being expensive these days. Still, I think the Challenger is a bargain! The Scat Pack specifically, is the performance bargain of the year!
