    hello all.

autozone got the code above. in his experience it usually happens when it gets cold out and it is 30 degrees out and the check engine light came on. Been doing some reading and 90% of the time it is the tstat.
Any other advice yall might have?
I did notice the temp gauge takes a while to start moving to the center position.....
Heater works fine inside the car.
Any videos out their on how to change the tstat?

    thx

A P0128 trouble code is probably a faulty tstat, but it could also be:

    Low engine coolant level
Faulty cooling fan (running too much)
    Faulty coolant temperature (ECT) sensor
Faulty intake air temperature (IAT) sensor

I couldn't find a video for a 6.1 tstat replacement, but this one for a 5.7 should help. The coolant capacity for a 6.1 is 14.8 quarts.
