Power polisher

    * Don't do it. I've seen numerous cars, too many to mention as being buffed with orbital polishers. Many auto body shops use them as a cheap way to avoid polishing and waxing by hand. They simply do not have the time. If you know not what you're doing, you'll surely leave burn or swirl marks, and you'll remove the clear coat. The clear coat is a very fine layer. Probably one coat a few mils thick. I have never used an orbital polisher and never will.

    As mentioned earlier, orbital polishers are far less dangerous to your finish because they simply don't generate as much heat as rotary polishers. I spent many years using a rotary in my detail business. Your best bet is to use an orbital with a simple cleaner wax.
