    Hello all.


    2010 Challenger SRT8.


    Not very familiar with plugs. Is there a real difference in the stock ac delco and bosch plugs? I am buying my wife some tomorrow.


    I bought some mobil 1 5w 30 high mileage for an oil change.....?

    Some people really love certain spark plugs but the truth is there really isn't a big difference between brands. Platinum plugs last approximately 100,000 miles and provide great performance. A fresh set will boost performance slightly but, since they are expensive, most people don't replace them more often than required. Regarding brand, I tend to suggest that people use what the manufacturer suggests.

    The manual says your 2010 SRT8 came with PLZTR5A-13 which is a NGK Platinum plug and those would be my choice to use now. https://www.ngk.com/product.aspx?zpid=9958

    The 2010 SRT8 owner's manual calls for 5W-40 Full Synthetic engine oil. The Chrysler standard in 2010 was MS-10725 and for the oil to meet Mercedes Benz MB-229.3 or MB-229.5 standards. It was a time when things were transitioning from Daimler Chrysler (Mercedes) standards to FCA (Fiat) standards. Mobil1 does not currently make a engine oil that meets the standard.

    I would probably use Pennzoil, Valvoline, or Amsoil 0W-40 full synthetic. These three all meet the current standard for the 6.4 HEMI engines.

    Ngk the way to go. Now if you supercharge or boost you need to adjust plug temp

    have a 2009 5.7 here and been using NKG plugs that are in Mopar boxes. got them at Moes Performance. basic stock set too.,

    bad thing about mine , the book says change plugs every 30,000 miles.

    Are they not platinum plugs? That interval suggests they aren’t.

    The 2009 Challenger R/T (345ci . 5.7 Liter) engines came with LZFRC5-11 spark plugs. These are NGK's standard copper plugs -- not platinum. So, yes, they call to be replaced every 30,000 miles. If you are buying NGK platinum plugs, then you can stretch the change interval.

    We had a 2007 Charger R/T that came with Champion copper plugs. A Mopar mechanic told me that the 5.7s (at least of that era) seemed to run better with copper plugs so there was no need to spend more on platinum.

    I know that there have been applications that claim to respond better to copper plugs but I've never experienced that personally. If it were my car, I'd try a set of platinum plugs. They "should" provide better ignition performance as well as a greatly extended service interval.
