I just joined yesterday after a suggestion from Maddog over at Ramforum.com. I hope this site is laid out about the same because it is so much easier to navigate that the Z. I literally spend a couple hours every morning perusing that site because there's always a lot going on. The Synthetic oil thread is the best. Just bought my Challenger back in December with 30K on her. I haven't done much with her other than switch her over to Redline 5W30 and Redline 75W90 in the diff. Would love to buy an unlocked PCM and get a custom tune and more especially turn off the MDS.
Awesome. Welcome to the site. Are you saying you really like the layout of RamForum.com over the crappy Z site?
Wi Without a doubt! I still drop in on the Z occasionally but I still can’t stand the layout. Going from that easy on the eyes blue background to white was a mistake too. I hope Ramforum sticks with black too. Of course the biggest difference is on Ramforum if you click on a thread it automatically takes you to where you left off from. The Z doesn’t do that.
To me the Z and ChallengerTalk have too many dictators there. I was banned from both just for voicing my opinion on something, lol.
I bet at the time when he was banned, the Z and CT weren't owned by the same people. They are now though.
The reason I mentioned it was that when looking at potential forums to join, I noticed guys that were moderators and/admin here, were also the same at another Challenger forum. Even saw posts that were duplicated in both forums.
I’ve only read the posts to around #73, and wow. I haven’t posted much because I’m not really into all of the social media jargon, but I do like talking shop and swapping stories with other car folks. That said, I will say this- this is the first fuel injected motor I’ve had- ever lol. So I bought a used R/T, with a touch over 112k on it. Within a 30 day period I had issues with the car. That’s how I found this forum. Mostly really nice guys, along with good humor. Unfortunately, when I posted my questions, I didn’t get any helpful responses. When it comes to the questions, I don’t respond if I’m not 100% sure of the answer. Like yellow jacket, I’m more of a do-it-myself car guy. The technical repair and upgrade knowledge that COULD be posted here would be great. I love to tinker with my car when I can, and a thread with how-to’s would be very helpful, I’m not very tech savvy. Hope this helps! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I left another forum and came to this one because of all the arrogant ppl on the old form. I tried to answer questions on these cars at the other forum only to run into people who are nitpick fools, or they believe that since you are new or not part of the "clique" you do not know what you are talking about. I have been turning wrenches on cars since 1983, and I have been a factory maintenance technician (multi-craft) in various industries for the last 27 years. Their behavior at the other forum just irritated me and made me not want to be a part of the forum over there any more. I bought my challenger new and have been slowly modifying it over the last 7 years. It started out as a stock 5.7L R/T 6 speed with around 330 whp, and now its a 5.7L with 750 whp and a 9 inch rear end. Still plugging away at the mods. I do not post much here because my posts are usually geared toward answering questions since I am about done with my build and most of my obstacles are already overcome. But I have noticed that this forum does not have much traffic. That said I am just cruising along with my build without any forum activity any more. I do my own work on my car at times, like valve springs or cam change (did the cam change on a 2010 Ram 1500), exhaust work, rear suspension (swapping out all rear components with on car adjustable BMR stuff), etc. But tuning I leave to the pros.
