"The truth is, color is not a reliable predictor for what type of coolant you have. For example, OAT coolants are usually orange, yellow, red or purple. HOAT coolants are orange and yellow for the most part. Then the older IAT coolant is green. Coolants that manufacturers sell can confuse matters even more, like Honda’s blue coolant. That's why you need to read what the bottle says and not rely specific color you’re pouring"

I'll Stick with my NEW GREEN Prestone
Works with even my old 440's :)

While you are correct about green coolant being IAT, a couple of auto manufacturers have introduced HOAT green coolant.
The gentleman stated "new green". The new green is HOAT.
Why a manufacturer would go back to green and risk cross contamination with old green is something I haven't been able to figure out.
And there is also blue coolant that looks like window wash.
    Confusing.
A person can use universal coolant in any OAT or HOAT system and not have to worry about what color dye was put in the factory coolant. The only difference is color.
    Have a great day.

Color was never an issue until January 20, 2009
