I am currently entertaining taking the plunge and trading my 2010 RT in on a 2017 Hellcat. Just working the numbers an checking on insurance.
The car only has 7500 KMS or 4600 MLS on it. One owner with clear Carfax review. Paint is Redline Tricoat, 8 speed automatic. Is there anything I should pay attention to other than the rear tires....and is there any extra costs to operating a Hellcat other than gas consumption. Special maintenance requirements?

    Going to the dark side?
If they just made a supercharger for the 5.7/6.1
    Wait, they do :)

Just giving you a hard time, it’s a beautiful car,
But even at 60, my insurance co convinced me a HellCat was a bad idea.

Have been thinking about adding a newer SRT-300 when I get old and don’t want to shift all the time.
But keeping my 2010, just saying

I'm with Hagarty for insurance on my 2009 RT. dont think they would insure anything that new. but at 64. it only cost me $750 a year and that is full coverage and a value replacement of $35,000.

    The dark side...:)
I’d rather put money into a factory system than keep modifying my 2010 RT. The Hellcat is built to handle the power where I’d have to do extra engine mods to the RT to safely handle the power. I’d love to keep the 2010 but the $$$ aren’t there for both. I’m 58 and from what my insurance agent tells me my rates will not change much at all......hmmmmm decisions, decisions.
I made the mistake and watched several You Tube reviews of the 2017 Hellcat.....looks like way too much fun. Mind you I’m not the type to race around all over the place burning the tires off but great to know you can.
Ive made an appointment to get in to look at it tomorrow.
If I do this I’ll have to adjust my site name......:D

I get the allure of the Hellcat. 700+ horsepower! What's not to like, right? And you're 100% right that if you really want that power level, the Hellcat is a better move than modding a more basic car. I too was bitten by the Hellcat bug but when I was looking to buy last year, I drove all the Challengers and came away feeling the Scat Pack was not only the best bang for the buck but also it feels more balanced. Yeah, on the track, the Hellcat walks the Scat Pack but on the street the difference isn't huge. In the end, I simply couldn't justify the cost difference. Now of course I was buying new so it's a different equation than you're facing. No doubt about it, a clean used Hellcat at a good price is hard to beat.

    @2010RT
I agree with most everything you said, except the Insurance.
Give them the VIN and I am going to guess that will raise your monthly more than the gas you use each month.

Going to be sad seeing you go, seams Hellcat drivers don't stay around here long :(

Hellcat is an awesome car, for maintenance is about the same really as a scat pack, my dad has had his for 3 years and other than chewing the rear tires right off there has been nothing done other than oil changes, i would say if you want that power and can afford it then go for it

Its proving to be a battle between what makes sense and what I want....unless you talk to my better half. All I seem to get is odd looks and head shakes....She does love the colour.

That is exactly why I have the SRT 392...instead of a Hellcat.

And it also cost 1/2 as much......in the long run.
