Had an interesting day on the roads of South Florida. Actually, everything happened on the Turnpike.
First, I embarrassed a new BMW M4 owner. He was right on my back bumper as I entered the Turnpike. As soon as the truck in front or us pulled to the right lane, I put the hammer down and so did the M4. we ran from about 65mph up to about 130mph. Initially, I opened up about a 5 or 6 car length gap and then we just sat even until I backed off. Of course he eventually blew by me after he saw I was done playing.
The second "race" was against a new Hellcat Widebody, also on the Turnpike. The guy entered the Turnpike and immediately rolled up behind me. I pulled into the right lane and let him pass. I thought for sure he'd hit it when we were side by side but he didn't. Once he pulled past me, I pulled in behind him and waited. Finally, he put the hammer down and so did I. I was very surprised to see between about 75mph and 135mph he really only pulled maybe an extra car length or so out from me. I truly expected him to walk away. Makes me even happier that I chose the Scat Pack over the Hellcat. Just sayin' :D

I chose the scat pack over the hellcat for two reasons purchase price and insurance rates. I got my scat for 37k with 23 miles the hellcat on the lot was around 58k now granted it had a few more options I did not see it being worth the difference in price especially for my needs as a daily driver and a baby hauler (she's 3 and LOVES the scat). With my insurance it would've cost me nearly another 100 dollars a month for the hellcat over the scat. The scat cost me 29 dollars more than my plan was before the change

Two great reasons, no doubt about it. While I initially planned on buying a Hellcat, I'm more than happy with the monetary savings I've realized after choosing the Scat Pack instead. Over the time I've had my Scat Pack Widebody, I've been approached by many people who thought it was a Hellcat or Demon. Most times when I tell someone that I have a Challenger, the first thing they ask is; did you get the Hellcat? They always get a mini education on the breed as I see it but I'm relatively sure most go away thinking I just didn't have the money for a Hellcat. My friends know better at least. While I'll readily admit the Scat Pack falls short behind a Hellcat at the drag strip, the street is a different story. In the months I've had mine, I've surprised a couple Hellcats. Both Challenger and Charger. It's all about putting the power down. I truly believe this model is the "best" Challenger available, and if you do some research, you'll find I'm far from alone in that belief. Hope you're enjoying yours as much as I am enjoying mine.

Even at 550hp these cars are not very exciting in terms of acceleration, and even less so in the maneuverability dept. despite handling mods. Particularly disappointing when factoring in the fuel cost. The Hellcats and beyond seem to hold their value better. The forum enthusiasm for anything other than the Hellcat and beyond is surprising to me. Time to pull the trigger on a C6 ZR1!

Let's go down that rabbit hole shall we? You will pay double the price I paid for my scat. Good luck carrying a small child and a load of groceries. No one is saying these cars are the fastest or the most luxurious even the hellcats aren't there however its all about priorities. Had I wanted the fastest or most fuel efficient car would I have chosen the scat? Probably not. If that were the criteria I wouldn't have chosen the vette either. These cars tick enough boxes for a lot of people even the v6 is a step up from most cars with its cargo capacity. For instance my gf has a 2020 kia sportage that cost 32k and its an under powered 4 cylinder that still doesn't get 20mpg in some situations and I still haul a lot more than her in terms of cargo and ass BUT she likes it. I also challenge you to get better mpg with that vette driving it like you describe. Using your logic just buy the McLaren because that vette is so slow? Or why not a supra with dual turbos making 1400 whp? If I wanted raw speed I would have chosen another car but me like most took a compromise between price function and looks and at the end of the day I get smiles per gallon and that's what matters most.

My daily driver (2007 335) comparatively is a much better pkg in every way at half the price of my Challenger. Due to forged internals you can turn these vehicles into rockets for $1500. Built to last, handle amazingly, 3 litre fuel economy, E85 compatibility. Luxurious excitement. https://burgertuning.com/products/500hp-n54-package

OMG! Yet another post about a BMW?! Really?
All you do is talk down Challengers and talk up other cars.
This guy is nothing but a troll and should be ignored.

Happy that you can be surprised. Based on your enthusiasm you should log off this site, delete its IP address from you devices and go out and enjoy BMW. Just a little bland looking for me, looks like a Cavalier or Forte. Really, go enjoy it, maybe some Audi drivers out there will give you a thumbs up.

Nothing appealing about that! I was thinking Ford Taurus in appearance. Time to sell your Challenger that will appreciate it.
