    Evening everybody,

After failing to solve my gas pump issue on my own, I have decided I'm going to take it into a shop for a diagnosis..

Would yall recommend an independent shop or Dodge dealership for the diagnosis? I'm in the Seattle, WA area if that helps!

A little back story on gas pump issue..

Whenever I pump gas it stops every 4 gallons, even though tank is not full. If I turn the nozzle upside down while pumping, I can usually get it to stop every 7 gallons, or sometimes not at all.

Flip a coin. If someone local can recommend an independent shop, it might save you some money since their labor rate is less and the markup on parts might be less. Seeing any codes set with their scan tool will point them in the right direction and a lot of them have software that gives them access to TSB's and other troubleshooting help.
On the other hand, a dealer's tech has more experience, probably has seen this problem multiple times and will diagnose and repair it quicker... hopefully. Like independent shops, there are good dealership service departments and some that aren't.
    Good luck.

    I agree with @B5blueRT.

An independent garage might be able to give your car more personal attention.

A dealer might be able to reference solutions others might have found that they can apply to your situation.

Ideal would be an independent garage that has a connection/relationship with someone at a dealership.

I haven't had any issues refueling any of my Mopars. However ... I had a 2005 Pontiac GTO that was a PITA to refuel. On that car, the fuel tank had been relocated to behind the rear seat - at the expense of trunk space - and was positioned vertically. That made it difficult for the tank to vent enough to fill easily. Getting the last few gallons in required a very, very slow delivery.

My guess is that you're experiencing a similar venting (or lack of venting) issue. Was your car part of the evaporative canister recall? If so, have you had the recall done? If so, I wonder if someone didn't get everything reconnected properly.

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the feedback. I feel like a Dodge dealer might be able to give me a more definitive answer, so I'm going to book a diag with them.

I had someone check my VIN for canister recall and it doesn't apply to my year/model
