I bought a 3.6 liter 2019 AWD Challenger brand new last year. I want to use Mobil 1 advance full synthetic in it but the manual only calls out conventional. I have researched and can’t find anything but improvements by using synthetic. Does anyone know if there is a reason synthetic isn’t listed in the manual? I know regular interval warranty claims are rare, but I would hate to be one of the rare ones. The service manager at the Dodge dealership told me I could use synthetic, but I’m guessing that wouldn’t hold up on a warranty claim. Thanks for any input. Primary reason for the synthetic would be to decrease my oil change frequency. I do them myself and drive over 500 miles a week for my job.

I would stick with what the Factory Calls for.

I know the 5.7 has an Engine Code that tells if you use incorrect weights, actually pops the code even if you do, as I do my own Oil Changes.
The 6.1 also calls for 0-40w which really freaked me out, but the engine is designed TIGHT and needs the 0-40w.

The REASON, at least on older design engines was not to use Synthetic until the engine is good and broke in, 10-12k miles or the Rings would never ware-in and seal.
    Then it should be fine.

Take it for "Free Internet Advice" and talk to a respected Mopar Service Tech please.

The Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0W-40is pretty pricey and not sitting on shelves around here. I usually do my own oil changes, but find myself tempted to use the 2 free oil changes that came with the car purchase.....

I get my Castrol 0W-40 off Amazon
Delivered, so I don't have to go to the store.

I just ordered Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0W-40 from Amazon. Six quarts for $47. But they wanted $16 for the 7th quart so I'l find it elsewhere.

I've long used my Amazon Prime points to get my SRT oil filter for "free." It's the first time I've ordered oil from Amazon ... but AutoZone won't even order 0W-40. NAPA and O'Reily and Advanced didn't offer any deals.

Pep Boys had an online only deal for $3.42 per quart ... but you could only order 1 quart. They seem to be working very hard to get out of the retail parts business.

    On Amazon.CA I found this add...I think I’ll pass.

i go to Walmart as you can get the 5 quart jug for around $25 and the quart bottle for about $6.97 each. I use Mobil1 5-20 in my 2009 challenger, but use the same weight in Pennzoil for my ram.

Haven't had my first oil change yet but when I do, I'll probably just go to my local oil change place and get whatever they have. Or maybe just go to the local dealer. I've never been much of an oil snob.

I've used Mobil 1 in my 11 3.6 since the 1st oil change from new and it has worked fine.
