i have worked for chrysler as a tech for over 40 years. synthetic oil will NOT void your warranty. i run it in my 2014 chrysler 300 awd, my challenger R/T 5.7l and my 2002 4.7l H.O. grand cherokee overland. it gives me a longer oil change interval and has superior heat and lubrication properties. good luck and enjoy the car with no worries

    Hello,
I assume your new 3.6 calls for 0W20 oil (please correct me if it calls for 5W20).
I am an oil distributor and have been educated extensively on oils.
Assuming your 3.6 calls for 0W20, there is no such thing as a conventional 0W oil of any kind, not even a syn blend ( though some auto manufacturers in the past advertised blend). Any oil with the 0W designation is a full synthetic oil and has been since the introduction of 0W oils.
If by chance your engine calls for 5W20 oil, that oil is available in syn blend and full syn and also high mileage oil.
Conventional oils are a thing of the past as oil specs have improved drastically since 2004. Some oil companies are still advertising conventional but in reality these are syn blend oils. Pennzoil/ Quaker State/ Shell, Castrol, Valvoline, Conoco Phillips, Citgo, Petro Canada all are syn blend now. In 2004 Conoco/ Phillips went to syn blend and better only.
There is no law on how much syn must be in an oil to be called a syn blend oil, but with spec improvements since 2004 the percentages have increased. Most oils should have a minimum of 25% by now. My private label oil has 45%.
The oil recommended for your engine must meet a spec. As long as a synthetic oil meets that spec, and you would be very hard pressed to find a synthetic oil that doesn't meet spec, your good to go. The manufacturer can't void a warranty as long as specs are met.
The Pentastar 3.6 has used 3 oil weights since it's introduction. 5W30 was first, then 5W20 and now 0W20.
Even with your 500 miles per week, assuming you do a lot of stop and go, more than a 5000 mile oil change interval will harm your engine, and your oil filter won't go beyond 5000 miles. Though extended performance filters are available and will go to 10,000 miles. A disintegrated oil filter from extended oil drain intervals can do damage to an engine.
    I hope this helps you.

my wifes 2018 charger 3.6 calls for 5w20. same as my 2009 5.7 challenger, use Mobil1 in the challenger and Pennzoil full syn in the charger as well as in my 2017 Ram.

Does your car call for a 0W20 oil?
If so, it is already synthetic.

While any 0W40 oil is pricey, the Pennzoil 0W40 is the ONLY oil that meets MOPAR'S specs. MOPAR hasn't released the spec to the "aftermarket oils".

Not true. Several oils meet the MS-12633 spec.
