    2015 Challenger SXT+ 3.6L V6 PROBLEMS

So the last couple of days I felt some "shudder" when idling at a red light, not all the time but intermittent. Car felt like it would "Jump" a little, wasn't that bad. Didn't think much about it, figured it might be clogged injectors or even needing plugs. I just hit 92,000 miles.

This morning I left the house and made it maybe 2 miles, then suddenly some SERIOUS shuddering started with loss of power. Shortly afterwards the check engine light came on, then started flashing. I drove back home and shut it down.

I plan on calling the dealer to come get it tomorrow morning after I get all my crap out of it. I have the MOPAR lifetime extended warranty plan (which you can no longer get) and I'm not sure what to think yet.

Anyone experience this sort of issue? I don't really think this is a bad gas issue. Feels more mechanical.

OH and I'm a newbie here, nice to meet ya'll.

The fact that you're wondering about needing spark plugs suggests that they might be quite old. Severely worn spark plugs could cause engine misfires or even damage the ignition coils. Either of these failures could cause the symptoms you describe.

Have you looked in the owners manual? It will tell you the service maintenance schedule for it. I want to say that a spark plug change on most of these engines now say 125,000 miles. back when the challenger came out, the 5.7 .....you had to change plugs every 30,000 miles while the 6.1 I believe said you can change at 125,000 miles. but always check you owners manual for stuff like that. good thing you do have the lifetime warranty.....my son has a 2016 Ram 4x4 with the 5.7 and the only reason he hasn't traded or got a new one is because of that warranty. He has over 100,000 miles on it right now.

and yes my 2009 5.7 gets its plugs changed every 30,000 miles... ;) I'm at 105,000 miles now.
