I'm finding different numbers in a 'search' and was wondering if anyone knew specifically what the front/rear weight distribution is for the 5.7 R/T??
The reason I'm asking is that I feel the rear is rather light compared to my other cars. I have a steep/twisty driveway and the all-season Goodyears (correct tire pressure) will chirp coming up the driveway. My other cars with all-season tires do not (Michelins on Ford, BFG on Pontiac). I know these Goodyears are half decent as I had them on old BMW many years ago with no chirping up the driveway. I'm thinking it's perhaps the weight distribution and not the tires. Of course the Dodge is larger/longer too which may be a factor. No big deal but I'd still like to figure it out instead of wondering.

I would doubt the weight distribution has anything to do with it. More likely just tire differences or maybe an alignment issue.

Probably also has a better power to weight ratio, tighter limited slip, and better gearing...weight distribution has very little to do with that in the situation you mention.

BTW, I believe the weight distribution is approx. 55%(Front)/45%(Rear) which is virtually identical to your Trans Am.

    Very Close:

    2010 SRT = 4450 (with my fat 200lb ass)
    2400 front (53.93%)
    2050 rear (46.07%)

I throw a 20" spare wheel & tire in trunk,
but I still want to install a Second Battery in the trunk as well
but really just need some 325/35/20's on the back
    and some 4.5" wide Front's

Up here I add 20” patio stones in my truck box for winter traction :D

In my Stealth I used to throw two bags of Stove Pellets in the back during the winter.
When I got stuck, I could open one of the bags to throw under and in front of the stuck tires for traction

In my (very) younger years, we did something similar. We use to throw a bag or two of rock salt in the trunk for added weight in the winter. The salt could be tossed on the snow and ice when you got stuck. Gee, we could never figure out why our trunk floors rotted out so quick. :)

Funny how the further up the food chain you go, the worse the weight distribution gets!
