If anyone with a 2010 Challenger has a high speed wheel vibration, have this problem checked out. SUBJECT: Slight Vibration at Highway Speeds OVERVIEW: This bulletin involves the removal of all four wheels and the Tinnerman push nuts. MODELS: 2010 (LC) Challenger 2010 (LX) 300/Charger NOTE : This bulletin applies to sales code (WP6 and WPI) built after April 17, 2009 (MDH0417XX) and before May 27, 2010 (MDH0527XX) and sales code (WPT) built after September 24, 2009 (MDH0724XX) and before July 07, 2010 (MDHO707XX). SYMPTOM/CONDITION: The customer may experience vehicle vibrations which are commonly felt in the steering wheel. A number of vehicles may have been shipped with wheels that do not have the relief cut to accommodate the Tinnerman push nuts used during vehicle assembly. Dealers are required to remove all 4 wheels to remove and discard the Tinnerman push nuts that are used during initial vehicle assembly at the plant. DIAGNOSIS: If the vehicle operator experiences the symptom/condition, perform the repair procedure. REPAIR PROCEDURE: 1. Raise the vehicle and remove all 4 wheels. 2. Using side cutters remove and discard the Tinnerman nuts/washers. 3. Following the procedure outlined on DealerConnect, reinstall the wheels and torque lug nuts to 150 Nm (110 ft lbs). Nice find, Tom. Something tells me I have a slight vibration, but it could be in my head. I change my tires when I put the 20" CCs on and off for summer. Will have to remember to look. I should be able to remove those myself.
I think the easiest thing to do is just pull the wheel off and see if it has the Tinnerman push nuts and to see if the aftermarket rims ( I really doubt they do) have the relief cut to accommodate the Tinnerman push nuts.
