Is it me or do these cars dent with pretty much no effort. If the sheet metal on these cars gets any thinner it will be aluminum foil. Still love the car.
I never noticed any ease of denting. My Challenger has a tiny dent from the factory/dealer on the belt-line but that was the only dent I had on either of my Challengers (Garage kept, never driven on bad roads, always conscious of where I parked, and didn't own them for long). That being said, they're a whole lot of flat sheet metal lol, that probably makes it easier to flex and more noticeable when it does dent. Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
Yes,. they do dent easily......blame it on the EPA....lighter thinner panels in an effort to save money and get better mpg
I think they are cheaply made as well. When I first waxed my car (by hand) I noticed how easy it was to push in the metal. Not impressed at all but it is what it is. Same with the plastic wheel wells. Cheap!!! I really enjoy my car though and I'm glad that I can keep it out of the elements 99% of the time and in the garage. I really apply the protective products to everything so with it being 'babied' I hope it can last for many. many years. My Trans Am and Mustang are not made that much better (but they are a bit better) and they have lasted well. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Most modern cars are that way. But I think it's more pronounced on the challenger because it's basically flat. No doubt they're made cheaply but that's how you get a 40k car with 485hp and upgraded interior Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
